We arrange insurance. Insurers underwrite it.
We don't issue insurance policies ourselves. As your broker, we act on your behalf: we understand what you need, approach insurers and underwriters on our panel, and arrange cover for you. The insurer that underwrites each policy is responsible for the cover and for paying claims.
You'll always know who your insurer is before you buy. When we recommend a policy, we name the insurer and give you its Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and policy wording so you can check the cover before committing.
Sometimes we arrange cover under a binder or agency arrangement with an insurer, which means we act for the insurer rather than for you. We'll always tell you when that's the case.
Disclosure documents
- Financial Services Guide & Terms of Business Agreement (PDF): our services, how we're paid, how we manage conflicts of interest, and your rights.
- Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) and policy wordings: each insurer publishes its own. We give you the PDS for any product we recommend before you buy, and you can ask us for a copy at any time.
- Target Market Determinations (TMD): insurers publish a TMD for each retail product, describing who it's designed for. We'll provide the TMD for any product we recommend, or you can ask us for it.
- Privacy policy: how we collect, use and protect your information.
- Website terms of use: the terms for using this website.
- Complaints: how to raise a complaint and escalate it to AFCA.
How we're paid
We're usually paid a commission (brokerage) by the insurer, calculated as a percentage of your premium. We may also charge a broker fee. Any fee is shown on your tax invoice. The FSG explains our remuneration in full.
General advice warning
Any advice provided on this website is general in nature and does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. Before acting on this advice, consider whether it is appropriate for your circumstances. Before deciding to acquire or renew an insurance product, read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), policy wording and any applicable supplementary documents, and consider whether the product is suitable for you.
Cooling-off period
For retail insurance contracts, you generally have at least 14 days after receiving confirmation of cover to change your mind and return the policy, provided you haven't made a claim. The insurer may keep reasonable administration costs. See the FSG and your PDS for details.
